New Trailer: Selfless

I have to say, this upcoming sci-fi thriller featuring Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kingsley looks pretty damn good. The plot seems original, which is always a appreciated. Plus, I am very interested to see how the movie deals with concepts like immortality and transferring your consciousness into another body. I anticipate plenty of drama and plot twists from this film, I can’t wait to see it.

Selfless is set to come out in theaters on July 31st

New Trailer: Avengers Age of Ultron

This new trailer reveals a little bit more about the film’s main villain Ultron. I don’t know what else is left to say about this movie. Avengers: Ave of Ultron might be the most highly anticipated movie of all time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it broke the $200million mark in its first weekend like the first Avengers film.

May 1st can’t get here fast enough.

New Trailer: Trainwreck

Trainwreck is the next film directed by the comedy mastermind Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin). The film has a female lead character played by comedian Amy Schumer. This doesn’t strike me as the most original film, I feel like the subject matter of relationships has been covered again and again, but I really like the cast (plus celeb appearances by Lebron James, Method Man & John Cena!) and I know Apatow is a great filmaker. This might not be his best work, but I think the movie looks quite funny. I’ll most likely be watching it when it hits theaters.

Trainwreck is scheduled to come out in theaters on July 17th.

New Trailer: Hot Pursuit

Hot Pursuit is an upcoming “buddy comedy” starring the always charming Reese Witherspoon, and the lovely Sofia Vergara. I wouldn’t have imagined these two ladies as a “comedic duo” but if the trailer is any indication this movie is actually going to be quite funny. The film reminds me a bit of 2013’s The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, mainly because it’s an action-comedy with two female leads. I like that Hollywood is making more comedies with female leads, diversity is never a bad thing. I have high hopes for this movie, I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Hot Pursuit is scheduled to come out in theaters on May 8th

New Trailer – Hitman: Agent 47

It looks like Fox Studios is rebooting the Hitman film franchise with the new Hitman: Agent 47. For those that don’t know the film is based on a video game series where the main character (Agent 47) is a genetically engineered assassin who is very good at killing people for a living.

Agent 47 was originally played by Timothy Olyphant (Justified) in the 2007 version of the film Hitman. The original film was nothing special really, it was a decent action flick with a sub-par plot. Now with this reboot, the role has been re-cast and now Rupert Friend (Homeland) will be taking over as the title character. I like the casting choice, Friend has shown that he is more than capable of filming action sequences, and I like how he is portraying the character.

Judging by the trailer this movie actually looks pretty good. The stunts and action sequences seem very well made, and I like the supporting cast led by Zachary Quinto (Startrek). I don’t know how good the movie will be, I just hope the plot is good enough to match the visually spectacular stunts and action sequences.

Hitman: Agent 47 is set to come out in theaters on August 28th.

New Trailer: Straight Outta Compton (NSFW)

Straight Outta Compton is an upcoming semi-biographical movie that follows the founding members of the legendary rap group N.W.A. during the early years of the groups history. I wasn’t really aware of rap music/alive during NWA’s heyday so I can’t say they’re one of my favorite groups of all time, but I can definitely appreciate their story and the music they made. Straight Outta Compton looks like a very interesting film set in Southern California during the 1980’s. I have to say, the filmmakers made some excellent casting choices because the actors all look very similar to the men they portray in real life.

Straight Outta Compton is scheduled to come out in theaters on August 14th.

TV Trailer: Season 2 of Silicon Valley

My favorite new comedy is back for season 2! Silicon Valley is one of the most original, well made comedies on TV right now. The show’s creator (Mike Judge) has an impressive resume in the industry, and the show features an excellent cast. TJ Miller, Kumail Nanjani, and Martin Starr are all veteran comedians who do an excellent job portraying “real” nerds in the show. It will be interesting to see how the show replaces billionaire Peter Gregory (played by the late Christopher Evan Welch).  Silicon Valley is without a doubt one of the best shows on TV right now and I cannot wait for Season 2 to come out.

Season 2 of Silicon Valley is scheduled to come out on April 12th.

Movie Trailer: Beyond the Reach

Beyond the Reach is an upcoming thriller featuring Michael Douglas in role that is very familiar to him, playing a wealthy CEO-type with villainous traits. Right from the start I have to say that I really like the film’s plot. It’s very different from what I’m used to seeing from the film industry nowadays and I like that. The movie reminds me a bit of the Anthony Hopkins/Alec Baldwin drama The Edge(1997) except without a killer bear. The films other main character is played by the relatively unknown Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) who looks to be a worthy adversary for Douglas in the movie.

Beyond the Reach looks imaginative, suspenseful and entertaining. I really look forward to watching this.

Beyond the Reach is scheduled to come out in theaters on April 17th in the U.S.

New Trailer: Furious 7

I’ll start off by saying that I’ve never been a big fan of the Fast & Furious movies. I enjoyed the first 2, but I don’t like how they’ve gotten progressively more exaggerated with both the movie’s plot as well as the stunts. With that being said I have seen all 6 of the previous films so that alone makes me somewhat interested in seeing the latest chapter in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Also, this movie just plain ol’ looks badass. I really hope the plot is somewhat coherent and not just a bunch of cool stunts and shots slapped together to form a movie. I like the addition of Jason Statham as the new villain, plus I’m interested to see how they dealt with Paul Walker’s death.

The addition’s of Kurt Russell, Dijimon Hounson(Blood Diamond)  and Rounda Rousey are promising as well.

I haven’ really liked the past few Fast & Furious films, I hope Furious 7 is the exception.

Furious 7 is set to come out in theaters on April 3rd.

New Trailer: Focus

It’s been some time since Will Smith made a movie that I really wanted to see. Focus looks like a great con-man drama with a fairly original plot. It reminds me of a mix of Matchstick Men(2003) and the Oceans Eleven movies. The film’s cast is comprised of a few lesser known actors along with Will Smith and the beautiful Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street). I  think this trailer gives a little too much away as far as the movie’s plot goes, but I’m still very much interested in watching the film.

Focus is scheduled to come out in theaters in a few weeks on February 27th. I can’t wait to go see it.
