The trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is finaly here! 2016 is already shaping up to be an amazing year in comic book movies. There is Deadpool in February, Batman V Superman in March, Captain America: Civil war in early May and now X-Men: Apocalypse in late May. Seriously what more could a fan want??
The thing that stands out the most to me from this trailer has to be Oscar Isaac. He is without a doubt one of my favorite actors and I have a feeling that he’s going to do an amazing job with this role. He has great acting chops and he has that gravitas that is needed to portray such a powerful villain. I really can’t wait for 2016 to get here already.
This is the latest full length trailer for the upcoming Star Wars movie. We finally get to see a bit more action, and a better look at some of the main characters. I still have no idea what the film’s plot will be, but I know that the force and the dark side will be involved and I like it! I’m extremely excited for this movie. J.J. Abrams is one of my favorite directors and I already know this is going to be a great addition to the Star Wars film universe. I can’t wait for it to come out, it looks simply amazing.
Honestly I’m a little surprised I hadn’t heard about this movie before watching this trailer. The list of actors in this movie is simply amazing, I mean just the top 4 billed actors alone (Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt) are some of the biggest movie starts of our time. Not to mention it’s directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Stepbrothers) and its about one of the biggest and most recent events in world history. I could see this movie do very well come award season, I mean the cast already has 12 academy award nominations between them. I can’t wait to see what this film is going to be like.
Here is the new trailer for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio drama The Revenant. Here I thought the first trailer was intense (LINK), boy does this trailer takes it up a notch. I was already immensely excited for this movie, and now that I have a better idea of what its actually about, I want to see it even more. Without giving too much away, it appears that this movie is about Leo’s character suffering a terrible loss, and how he comes back to get his revenge on the people that left him for dead. It’s been a while since DiCaprio made a movie, but it looks like he’s right back in his groove. Hopefully this is the film that finally earns him that elusive academy award that he clearly deserves. The film is directed by current Best Director winner Alejandro G. Iñarritu and also features the very talented Tom Hardy. The cinematography looks fantastic as well, those are some beautiful wide shots in the trailer, and some fantastic camera-work. When it’s all said and done, this may go down as the best movie of the year, I can’t wait to see it.
The new trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is finally out and it looks amazing!!! Unlike a lot of people I’m actually a big fan of the original Man of Steel movie. I’ll be the first to admit that it wasn’t perfect by any means, and it was definitely a little too cheesy at times, but I still loved it. I think what I liked the most about it was the main villain General Zod (played by the great Michael Shannon) and his clash against Superman who I consider to be greatest hero of all time.
To me what makes Batman V Superman so exciting is the fact that it has so many iconic and legendary characters in it. I’ll watch anything with Superman or Batman in it, so a movie with both of them (not to mention fighting each other!!) is almost like a dream come true.
From what the trailer shows, the film is definitely going to address all the rampant destruction that Superman caused in the last movie during his final fight with Zod, and I really like that. I like that there are consequences and real life situations in the DC universe, I appreciate that Zach Snyder is attempting to tell a more realistic story (well as realistic as you can get with superheros). Plus I’m very interested to see Ben Afflecks performance as Batman as well as where this film leads us in the greater DC universe.
I already know that 2016 is going to be an amazing year in film with so many great movies coming out (Captain America 3: Civil War, X-Men Apocalypse, Deadpool, Suicide Squad, etc), but if I had to pick 1 movie that I’m most looking forward to it has to be Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. I can’t wait for it to be March already!!
Sicario is an upcoming crime drama that focuses on the war on drugs along the Mexican border. This movie looks pretty damn good. The cast looks amazing. Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin are all fantastic actors, and judging from the trailer they are set to deliver some great performances. The subject matter seems quite interesting as well. There have been a number of films made recently that focus on cartel violence and the war on drugs, but this to me looks better than anything else that’s come out in recent memory. I am very much looking forward to this film.
Sicario is set to come out in theaters on September 25th
Z for Zachariah is a post apocalyptic sci fi film set after a nuclear war. The movie is about 3 survivors, how they come together and how they start their new lives as possibly the last human beings on earth. Judging from the trailer alone there is going to be a ton of great drama, and tense situations in the film. The movie has such a great cast, which includes the beautiful Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall street), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Chris Pine (Star Trek). I already know the love triangle between Robbie, Ejiofor and Pine is going to be fantastic. This really is one of the movies I am most looking forward to this year.
Z for Zachariah is set to come out in theaters on August 21st.
This is the trailer for Ridley Scott’s latest project. The Martian is based on a best selling novel written by author Andy Weir. I haven’t personaly read the book, but I’ve heard great things.
The movie takes place in the future during a manned mission to Mars. Matt Damon’s character is left behind when his fellow crewmembers assume he died. The movie is about one man surviving against all odds. It looks interesting to say the least.
Let’s be honest, this movie looks amazing. I mean the cast alone is spectacular, its going to be interesting to see how the filmakers use so many famous actors in the movie. I really can’t wait to go see it.
The Martian is set come out in theaters on November 25th.
Anthony “Showtime” Pettis is the future of MMA. He represents the new elite crop of MMA fighters, athletes who are complete mixed martial artists and who will lead the sport to new heights. He is in the same class as Ronda Rousey, Demetrious Johnson, TJ Dillashaw, Jose Aldo, Chris Weidman, Jon Jones, and Cain Velasquez. All these men (and women) represent the very best our sport has to offer, and they are also arguably the best fighters their respective divisions have ever witnessed. We are truly living in a golden age of MMA right now, and Anthony Pettis is one of this era’s brightest stars.
Showtime just has that star quality that not all fighters posses. I can’t think of a better way to put it other than he’s got swag. There is a certain confidence that a person has when he knows he’s the best and Anthony Pettis has that. His looks, fighting ability and charisma have helped land him major sponsorship deals with the likes of Reebok and Wheaties. He isn’t just all looks and charisma though, this man can fight.
Anthony has a very unique and dangerous MMA style. He is a lethal striker with proven knockout ability in both his hands and legs. He is also a deadly submission specialist who has been able to tap out legitimate black-belts with relative ease. He is absolutely dangerous in all aspects of the sport, and he is unique in the way that he can mix in some truly amazing techniques into his fights. Showtime (a very appropriate nickname by the way) is best known for his amazing “Showtime Kick” where he literally jumped off the cage like a ninja and kicked (then champion) Benson Henderson in the face (you can see the kick at :38 in the video). He is arguably the most creative striker in MMA today and it is just a pleasure to watch him perform inside the octagon.

Pettis started his MMA career in 2007 and he has a career record of 18-2 with 7 KO’s and 8 submissions. His only 2 loses were both controversial judges decisions against Bart Palaszewski in 2009 and Clay Guida in 2011. Many people feel he won both of those fights but in the end the judges disagreed leaving those two blemishes on his otherwise stellar record.
After compiling a 12-1 record at just 23 years of age Pettis earned a shot at the WEC Lightweight belt. In December of 2010 Showtime became the WEC 155lbs champion by defeating Benson Henderson in the WEC’s last event before merging with the UFC. After winning the belt Anthony was supposed to fight the UFC Champion to combine belts, but the Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard trilogy delayed his title shot. In order to stay active he took a fight against Clay Guida and ended up losing a controversial judges decision.
Following his loss to Guida, Pettis rebounded by winning 3 straight fights against top fighters Jeremy Stephens, #21 Joe Lauzon, and #4 Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. During this run Pettis was finally able to show UFC fans some of his deadly finishing ability. He beat Joe Lauzon by landing a beautiful, head-kick knockout, and he defeated Cowboy Cerrone (an elite striker in his own right) with a scary, liver kick knockout.
This earned Anthony Pettis his long promised shot at the UFC Lightweight title against none other than Benson Henderson, the same man Pettis had previously beat to win the WEC Lightweight title. The first fight between these 2 men was a back and forth battle that went 5 rounds and was declared fight of the year back in 2010. Their second encounter couldn’t have been more different. It was a one sided affair, after landing some vicious body-kicks, Pettis was able to snatch Henderson’s arm and he forced him to tap out all in less than 5 minutes.
Pettis then went on to coach the 20th season of the Ultimate Fighter against Gilbert Melendez, who he then proceeded to beat in his 1st title defense at UFC 181. Pettis proved to be the clearly better fighter by rocking Melendez on the feet with punches and then chocking him out with a sleek guillotine choke in the second round, earning his first title defense at 155lbs.
Anthony Pettis is already the best lightweight fighter in the world, that much is a fact. Now he has to prove that he is the best fighter in lightweight history. He already has wins over the #4 (Cerrone), #5(Henderson), & #6(Melendez) ranked lightweights and he is about to face #3(Dos Anjos).
BJ Penn and Benson Henderson both hold the record for most title defenses in the lightweight division at 3. Currently, Pettis only has 1 title defense, but he’ll get the opportunity to get 1 more this Saturday when he faces #3 Rafael Dos Anjos@UFC185. Dos Anjos is a legitimate challenger that should prove to be a tough test for Pettis. If Pettis can defeat him it will only further cement his legacy as arguably the best lightweight fighter in MMA history, and maybe even the greatest fighter of all time.
Be sure to watch Anthony Pettis make history this Saturday at UFC 185, only on pay per view.
Tomorrowland is an upcoming live action sci-fiction adventure film made by Disney studios. It’s difficult to tell what the plot is from the trailer, but I’m already pretty interested in the film. I like movies that deal with alternate realities and the film does seem to have some excellent visual effects. With well known actors like George Clooney and Hugh Laurie I expect the movie to do very well in theaters. This is yet another movie that I’m looking forward to that is coming out this summer.
Tomorrowland is set to come out in theaters on May 22nd
