New Trailer: Trainwreck

Trainwreck is the next film directed by the comedy mastermind Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin). The film has a female lead character played by comedian Amy Schumer. This doesn’t strike me as the most original film, I feel like the subject matter of relationships has been covered again and again, but I really like the cast (plus celeb appearances by Lebron James, Method Man & John Cena!) and I know Apatow is a great filmaker. This might not be his best work, but I think the movie looks quite funny. I’ll most likely be watching it when it hits theaters.

Trainwreck is scheduled to come out in theaters on July 17th.

New Trailer: Hot Pursuit

Hot Pursuit is an upcoming “buddy comedy” starring the always charming Reese Witherspoon, and the lovely Sofia Vergara. I wouldn’t have imagined these two ladies as a “comedic duo” but if the trailer is any indication this movie is actually going to be quite funny. The film reminds me a bit of 2013’s The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, mainly because it’s an action-comedy with two female leads. I like that Hollywood is making more comedies with female leads, diversity is never a bad thing. I have high hopes for this movie, I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Hot Pursuit is scheduled to come out in theaters on May 8th

New Trailer – Hitman: Agent 47

It looks like Fox Studios is rebooting the Hitman film franchise with the new Hitman: Agent 47. For those that don’t know the film is based on a video game series where the main character (Agent 47) is a genetically engineered assassin who is very good at killing people for a living.

Agent 47 was originally played by Timothy Olyphant (Justified) in the 2007 version of the film Hitman. The original film was nothing special really, it was a decent action flick with a sub-par plot. Now with this reboot, the role has been re-cast and now Rupert Friend (Homeland) will be taking over as the title character. I like the casting choice, Friend has shown that he is more than capable of filming action sequences, and I like how he is portraying the character.

Judging by the trailer this movie actually looks pretty good. The stunts and action sequences seem very well made, and I like the supporting cast led by Zachary Quinto (Startrek). I don’t know how good the movie will be, I just hope the plot is good enough to match the visually spectacular stunts and action sequences.

Hitman: Agent 47 is set to come out in theaters on August 28th.
