Transformers: Age of Extinction (6/28/14)

2 Transformers: Age of Extinction

Just got back from watching Transformers: Age of Extinction and what can I say… I didn’t have the highest expectations going in and even so I was a bit disappointed. It’s your typical big, dumb, loud, summer blockbuster. It has great explosions, stunts and action sequences but terrible dialogue, cheesy acting, and a plot that makes very little sense. You would think a movie like this would be easy to understand and follow but I was truly lost. There are too many plot holes to count too many villains to keep track of and very little character back story which is sorely needed since the film introduces pretty much a brand new cast. Honestly, I laughed more times than I should have for an action movie, it was that ridiculous at times. The only good parts in the movie were the scenes that had TJ Miller or Stanley Tucci in them as they both did an excellent job providing the comedic relief in the middle of all the chaos. Still though it is not enough to save the movie. If you are a fan of the previous transformers movies and don’t mind sitting through a 2hr and 45min movie then you should go see Transformers 4, if not then I’d recommend you skip this one, trust me you’re not missing out on much. 2/5
